A 21-stage cycling tour of Spain will include the beautiful Andalusian city of Seville for the first time in 15 years.


SEVILLE, SPAIN, July 30, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Seville will be included on the Vuelta a Espana for the first time in 15 years, which is sure to have cycling enthusiasts excited about trips to the Andalusian city.

The sporting event will be kicking off in the southern Spanish location, so travellers may even catch sight of some of its stars staying in the fine accommodation Seville has to offer.

It is the 75th year that the Vuelta a Espana has been running and the organisers explained that the stages have been made shorter since it first started, so that it is more entertaining for spectators.

Cyclists will start from La Maestranza Bullring in Seville on August 28th, with a night-time time-trial set up to kick things off.

They were full of praise for Seville, pointing out that visitors can check out a whole host of beautiful landmarks in the city, such as the Parque Maria Luisa, the Jewish Quarter and the Real Alcazar.

While visitors can enjoy cheering the athletes on as they battle the heat and the roads, the cyclists have a real task ahead of them, since the Vuelta a Espana is a 21-stage tour.
